Student Activities Board
The Student Activities Board (SAB) is a student-run committee that brings a variety of entertainment and educational programs to campus. It's your source for campus activities. SAB is dedicated to programming a wide variety of social and educational events to create vibrant campus life, engage students, and foster community.
Kinjal Dave - President
I am a senior and majoring in Economics. Upon graduating from UIC, I plan to attend law school in Chicago. In my minimal spare time, I enjoy catching up on my favorite TV shows and getting the 411 on Hollywood from magazines. Aside from being in SAB, this is my third year serving as a peer mentor for the Asian American Mentoring Program. What I am most looking forward to this year is using SAB to bring more school spirit to our campus and to put on events that have never before been seen at UIC!
Gladys Ijelu - Vice President
My name is Gladys Ijelu and I will be a Senior in the Fall. My major is Psychology and my minor is Sociology. I hope to someday own my own practice with a focus on counseling and mentoring the youth. I have a big passion for nonprofit and giving back to the community. In my spare time, I like to travel, shop, and spend as much time with my family and friends as possible. I am pretty much a nerd and like to stay in my books so when my family and friends can get me away from school, it's always nice to get out and relax. I am looking forward to being a part of the executive board as the Vice President because I always enjoy the growth that comes along with having a leadership position. I believe the best part about this organization is that it is new and we are the first people to help bring awareness to SAB on campus and who better to do that than actual students on campus.
Christian Gray, Director of Marketing
My name is Christian Gray, the Director of Marketing, I am going into my 2nd year at UIC as a marketing major. I am a huge sports lover, I play tennis and basketball. I also play drums, piano, and the organ. My goal while apart of SAB is to enhance and engage each student in the UIC experience.
Gina Jarding, Director of Membership Development
I am a Senior majoring in psychology with a concentration in pre nursing here at UIC. In my spare time I enjoy kickboxing, dancing, snowboarding, watching movies, and trying new restaurants. I am excited to be a member of SAB because it's something new here at UIC and I want to help develop the program and get students involved and excited about the activities we host at UIC.
Director of Operations - Brandon Cockburn
My name is Brandon Cockburn. I am 20 years old and entering my senior year here at UIC. I am Majoring in Biological Sciences with a double minor in Chemistry and Psychology, and plan on going to graduate school to attain my PhD in Anatomy and Cell Biology. I absolutely love playing soccer and working out, I run, I love to read and of course I have my must watch TV shows. I also currently work at Chick-Fil-A on State and Lake downtown as a Closing Manager. I am very excited to be the first Director of Operations for the Student Activities Board. I can't wait to get to work on projects for the students and bring great activities and ideas to the table in order to bring a great experience to all the students this school year. I love hearing feedback about the events because there is always room for improvement and we as a group are here to bring the students what they want in their events.
